Sabra Candlesticks
$400.00
Sabra is a term used to describe a person born in Israel. The allusion is to a tenacious, thorny desert plant (a cactus also knows as a prickly pear) with a thick hide that conceals a sweet, softer interior, suggesting that even though the Israeli Sabra is rough and tough on the outside, the Sabra is delicate and sensitive on the inside. Avi found inspiration in two complementary verses: “Thorns and thistles shall it sprout for you…” (Genesis 3:18), and, from the Song of Songs 2:3, “…And his fruit is sweet to my mouth.”
