The following two verses influenced this design: “Open the gates of Justice for me that I may enter them…” and “…Justice and well-being kiss.” The letter “Shin”, represents the first letter of one of the Almighty’s many names in Hebrew, is placed as the pivot of the scales of justice which is fixed in an equalibrium position. From the Shin’s arms, the scale’s pans are hung with cables that allow them to move.
