Peruvian Opal and Silver Necklace with Golden Drop

While most jewelry is mass produced in factories, each of Sharon Levy’s stunning pieces are handmade by the artist in Israel. In this piece, she hangs a drop made of yellow gold soldered to sterling silver from a sterling dimensional disc that is set against an oxidized backing and in turn is centered by a round Peruvian opal set in a gold frame. The heavy chain gives added dimensionality by Sharon’s clever use of oxidation.
