The Can*imals are the brain child of Kimani, who has been making metal wire art in Kenya for many years. He now heads a workshop where he trains young men and provides employment to keep them off the streets. Kimani and his team make each of the soda can animals entirely by hand. These animals are helping to provide income and encourage creative recycling solutions in a country where recycling is rare. At peak times, he employs more than 45 artisans. And, thanks to these Can*imals, we've already recycled over 50,000 aluminum cans! Small things do add up to make a big impact.
