Ahuva Elany

Ahuva Elany is a graduate of the Bezalel Art Academy's Welding Department (1998) and the Reshet Amal School of Jewelry Manufacturing (2001) in Israel. Throughout most of her years as an artist, Ahuva created gold and silver jewelry.  She discovered the wonders of copper when she needed to design a candlestick that her young daughter could not reach.  With the remains of some copper in her storage room, a remnant from her school days at the Bezalel Art Academy, Ahuva created a most impressive wall candlestick. Ahuva's designs are crafted from thick sheets of copper which is cut with a very thin saw that allows for precise and delicate slicing of the sheets. The colors are the natural shades of copper, varying in degree due to the special heating and cooling technique that Ahuva utilizes. All of Ahuva's pieces are handmade and unique in design and material. "Love, soul, enchantment and good energy are the ingredients of my creations. Israel and the Jewish tradition are the source of my inspiration; I love this country and am proud to be part of it. My creations are handmade, they are the result of much thought, many hours of work and joy."
