Laury Monk

Laury started making jewelry in 1967 while she was living in Hawaii. She was inspired by the color of the foliage and the ocean, and started to combine puka shells with natural stones and sterling silver. Always interested and involved in fashion, Laury opened a retail store outside of Aspen, Colorado. In 2001, she went to the International Rock and Gem Show in Denver with her mentor -- who started the first rock and mineral store in Colorado. His great love and knowledge of the stones inspired Laury to start beading. She remains fascinated and inspired by Native American culture, by the stark beauty of the desert and by the amazing diversity of natural stones. Each piece is one of a kind, and incorporates the finest materials, including antique and new stones. Laura's work is shown at fine art galleries and museums stores throughout the Southwest and the New York area.
