This beautiful Shabbat challah covers by Israeli artist and noted calligrapher Oshrit Raffeld celebrates Shir Hamaalot and the City of Jerusalem. Psalm 126, Shir Mamaalot, the Psalm attributed to King David, is written in Hebrew calligraphy, surrounded by a whimsical depiction of the Old City. The psalm describes the happiness experienced by those who return to the land of Israel, to Zion, after living in the Diaspora, and it is sung as a prelude to the blessing after meals on Shabbat and some other Jewish holidays.
